TASCA AND MOTORCRAFT/QUICK LANE RACING EXIT LAS VEGAS IN FIRST ROUND

Las Vegas, NV, April 18, 2010 – Bob Tasca III and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team, loaded with key elements of the BOSS 500 engine platform, looked to turn their luck around in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Season this weekend at Las Vegas.

Tasca opened the weekend with an impressive 4.290-second pass at 293.66 miles per hour during the first qualifying session, which was third fastest of the round. Later on Friday, Tasca ran a 4.541-second pass at 256.21 miles per hour. After two rounds of qualifying, Tasca was comfortably in the top-12 with two additional passes on Saturday.

During Saturday’s qualifying session, Tasca posted a 4.388-second run at 285.47 miles per hour, despite a clean pass, Tasca and the team looked to improve their time and place in the ladder. In the closing qualifying session, Tasca took his Motorcraft/Quick Lane Shelby Mustang to the third quickest pass of the session with a 1,000-foot run in 4.243-seconds at 292.77 miles per hour.

The fourth and final qualifying pass would seed Tasca in the eighth position for Sunday’s eliminations. Tasca’s Ford was paired against Melanie Troxel’s Dodge in the opening round.

Once the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger were staged and the tree lit, the two had nearly identical reaction times – Tasca's 0.092 to Troxel’s 0.094. In what was a close race, Troxel took the lead and reached the finish line ahead of Tasca by 0.0037 seconds, approximately 19 inches.

Tasca ran a 4.280-second pass at 288.89 miles per hour to Troxel’s 4.275-second pass at 301.33 miles per hour.
